The MT500A CNC is an automatic twisting and bending machine designed for small, medium and large cold-forming production runs. Its welded and machined monobloc steel frame provides high rigidity, durability and precision. It features two independent workstations: twisting and bending with no throat-depth limitation, allowing large-size parts to be produced. The machine includes a standard tooling kit and accepts optional tooling, custom-made dies and customer-designed tooling.

The MT500A CNC is intended for metalworking shops, blacksmithing and ornamental ironwork companies, metal transformation businesses and manufacturers that need to produce repeatable batches or develop custom solutions using cold twisting and bending processes.

CNC control with Industry 4.0 technology

The new ESA S820 CNC control with Industry 4.0 technology brings a higher level of automation, connectivity and process control to the MT500A CNC. It allows the operator to program working sequences, reproduce parts with high precision and reduce manual setup operations, improving productivity and batch consistency.

Industry 4.0 technology also allows Nargesa to remotely access the machine control, with the customer's authorisation, for technical support, fault diagnosis, parameter checks and assistance during commissioning or operation. This enables many service queries to be solved faster, reducing downtime and simplifying maintenance and after-sales support.

The system can also store up to 10,000 programs, retrieve previous jobs and speed up changeovers between part references. Together with ECO mode, which automatically reduces electrical consumption during idle periods, the new control improves both production efficiency and machine management and maintenance.

 

Cold forming: power, control and rigidity

The MT500A CNC forms metal directly at room temperature, with no prior heating. By eliminating a thermal cycle, the process avoids potential material changes associated with heating and simplifies production because no furnace or quenching time is required.

Its 4 kW / 5.5 hp motor, combined with a geared transmission using hardened spur gears, delivers the torque required to form large-section profiles in a stable and controlled manner. The machine can twist square bar up to 40 mm and bend square bar up to 25 mm. Rotation speed is adjustable from 0 to 10 rpm, allowing the operating parameters to be adapted to the part, material and forming process.

 

Two independent workstations

The MT500A Twisting Iron Machine has two workstations:

  • Twisting station for continuous lengths up to 1,620 mm.

  • Bending station with no throat-depth limitation.

The machine can twist a continuous section up to 1,620 mm in a single positioning. For longer lengths, the bar can be shifted and repositioned so twisting can continue on the same workpiece by successively overlapping or linking the working sections. This means the total bar length is not limited by the length of the worktable.

The absence of a throat-depth limitation at the bending station makes it possible to work with large parts, which is particularly useful for manufacturing railings, grilles, gates, fences and other large-format metalwork.

 

Programmable direction of rotation

The CNC control allows the operator to program the direction of rotation of the main spindle, clockwise or counter-clockwise, according to the part geometry and production sequence. This defines the orientation of the twist, reduces handling and repositioning, and simplifies the processing of long or complex parts by directing workpiece travel toward the side with the greatest available clearance and helping prevent interference with the machine, tooling or surrounding area.

The control also incorporates an optimised operating mode that automatically selects the shortest angular path back to the zero position, reducing non-productive movements and waiting times, especially in programs with multiple operations. Both the rotation direction and the return strategy are stored in each part program, ensuring automatic repeatability and the same production criteria throughout the batch.

 

Special tooling and customer-designed solutions

For complex forming processes, special geometries or specific production requirements, Nargesa can design and manufacture custom tooling for the MT500A. Each application is analysed according to the required finished part, material and forming sequence in order to develop a solution adapted to the customer's actual process.

Nargesa can also supply mounting discs that provide a base for customers to design, manufacture and install their own tooling. This gives the workshop greater autonomy and makes it easier to adapt the machine to special parts or dedicated processes.

Control CNC ESA S820

The CNC ESA S820 control automates and simplifies the twisting and bending process, allowing operators to program each job and repeat it with complete precision. Its touchscreen interface makes it easy to create, modify and retrieve programs, reducing setup times and manual adjustments.

Thanks to Industry 4.0 technology with remote connectivity, diagnostics, technical assistance and remote support can be carried out directly on the machine control, speeding up troubleshooting and reducing downtime.

It also includes features designed to improve daily productivity, such as storage for up to 10,000 programs, part counter, programmable rotation direction, optimized return, multilingual interface and ECO Mode to reduce energy consumption during periods of inactivity.

The Twisting Iron Machine MT500A CNC incorporates an ESA S820 CNC control with a 7-inch colour touchscreen, specifically adapted to twisting and bending operations. Its intuitive interface simplifies programming, storage and retrieval of part programs, enabling convenient and precise process management.

Automatic bending control

During bending operations, the operator can program the main spindle rotation angle in degrees. The CNC automatically reproduces the movement according to the programmed value, ensuring accurate repeatability between parts in the same batch while reducing the need for manual adjustments during production.

 

Manual and automatic operation

The control offers two operating modes:

  • Manual mode: for setup, testing, tooling preparation and one-off parts.

  • Automatic mode: for repeating cycles and producing batches of previously programmed parts.

In automatic mode, programs can be created with multiple consecutive operations. This makes it possible to manufacture complex components with twists or bends at different points, defining the required movements and parameters for each stage.

Once a program has been saved, the machine repeats the same sequence in every cycle, maintaining high repeatability and excellent consistency between parts, even in high-volume production.

 

Part counter

The integrated counter records the number of parts produced.

This function supports batch control, production planning and quantity verification.

 

Multilingual control

The CNC is available in more than 20 languages, making it easier to use by operators in different countries.

Programming can be carried out in millimetres or inches.
